Kia Ora Whanau,
My condolences to the family of my dear cousin, Hinekawa.
I've always had a special relationship with my Uncle Sam, Aunty Esther, and their family. I didn't know the older brothers very well, but from Charlie down, I remember lots of fun experiences.
I was about 9yrs old when Mum and Dad took us down to Porirua Pa for the first time to meet all our relations there. In particular, the families of her siblings: Uncle Sam's family, Aunty Kay Moriarty, and Aunty Pat Solomon. They were great times.
I can’t remember the last time I saw Hinekawa. Life, as it does to us all, took us in different directions. But thanks to modern technology via the internet, or our Maori Traditions via the Marae,
we have the ability to stay connected over great distances, or come together as a whanau to share our Aroha and support in the grieving of a loved one lost. The beauty of our traditions and Gospel is our enlightenment in the knowledge that we return to our Creator, and also to our families who have already crossed the veil. Surely, this takes away the “Sting” of death and illustrates the great blessing that Families are indeed, Forever!
It was awesome to meet the up and coming generations of Hinekawa’s family and extended whanau. My thoughts, love, and prayers to you all on this sad occasion, however, I trust my gift will bring solace to you as these photos clearly indicate that your dear wife, mother, grand mother, cousin and aunty had heaps of friends, and was loved by many.
Arohanui,
Justyn
PS. I was going to do a Video Slide Show but learning the new software that I bought (Filmora) got pretty heavy. So, when I have more time to spend on learning this program, I'll definitely look at this project again.
Word of Warning:
Should you ever get prompted on the Internet to "Name" a subject in a photo, please consider that once you Name someone, Google will "OWN" it and you'll never ever be able to "UNDO" this Action. Then, when you (or anybody else) types that persons name in the URL, Voila... there he/she is. Gone is that persons PRIVACY. Best to put their name in the "Comment Box" in the data section of the photo (if there is such a box).
On that note, if any of you object to having your photo on this site, please email me asap at justynmckay@gmail.com with the IMG# (frame or image number) and I'll remove it.
Kia Ora, ko taku whaanau. Arohanui, me Tena koutou katoa.
